Model Rights & Print Approval

Effective September 23, 2026

Your design, or a design you have permission to print. These requirements apply to accepted personal and business work; new orders and new customers are temporarily paused.

What we need before printing

  • Your own design: provide the model and available native CAD or source files, such as a Fusion 360 project, together with information supporting your ownership or authority to order it.
  • Someone else’s design: provide the model’s source, creator details, and the license or written permission covering this paid printing service, the quantity requested, and your intended use. A download or purchase receipt alone may not include those rights.
  • Mesh-only submissions: if you only have an STL, OBJ, mesh-only 3MF, or similar mesh file, we require a signed model-rights declaration before production, alongside any applicable license or permission evidence.

Native CAD files help us review a model’s origin and prepare the job; possessing a file does not, by itself, establish copyright ownership. We can review Fusion 360 and other source formats, but may request a STEP or print-ready export. File compatibility and any preparation work are confirmed with your quote.

How files are shared for accepted work

For accepted work, we arrange secure transfer of the model, source files, and rights evidence after confirming the project details. New project intake is temporarily paused. Our contact form remains available for general questions and existing-project support; please do not send new project briefs, confidential designs, or sensitive documents through it.

The signed declaration

For mesh-only jobs, we will ask you to return a dated, signed declaration identifying the specific files and order. It records:

  • Your name and, if relevant, the business you are authorized to represent.
  • The model name, file names or version, source, requested quantity, and intended use.
  • Whether you own the necessary rights, have permission or a license covering this order, or have another documented basis for lawful reproduction.
  • Your confirmation that the information and supporting documents are accurate, and that you authorize Dietz Enterprises to produce the agreed prints.
  • Your signature and the date.

The contact form’s acknowledgment is not this signed declaration. We review the documents before accepting the job for production and may ask for more evidence or decline an order when rights remain unclear.

Permission matters

A declaration does not replace permission from a rights holder or make an unauthorized print lawful. If a license restricts commercial activity or use by a printing service, please obtain permission that covers this order. For background, the U.S. Copyright Office explains how to obtain permission.

For general questions about model rights or existing work, contact us without uploading files. We handle documents shared for accepted work under our privacy policy.
